Secrets, Sins and Struggles is a collection of five short stories where it is based on female characters and it show cases how they struggled in their journey and yet did not lose hope. Pooja was forced to live a life where there was no life as a woman. She was a young teenager who was forced into flesh trade but was determined to escape. Geshna is an ambitious intelligent teenager who falls for Nihal, an equally intelligent guy. She sacrifices her dreams and goals for him but later on realizes that he is a jerk and she is determined to make up for the lost years. Sharwani belongs to a lower caste but desires to clear the IAS Exam. She admires a guy who is confident but is not aware of his intentions. She has the strong will to achieve her dreams. Despite failures she tried for her dreams and did not lose the hope for her dreams by giving up. Harsha gets married to Snehil but is in love with Anish. This is the story of a true love of a husband and unfaithfulness of a wife who ends up being the victim in an illicit relationship. I felt Snehil is the hero of the story where he forget his wife’s past deeds and still accepted her back in his life. Avni was a small town girl and she was restricted from doing anything. She had the only of going to college and coming back home. In this story she is torn between her childhood friend Soumya and her boyfriend Jeevak. This tale is of romance, betrayal and lifestyle. Life takes a drastic turn when she becomes a victim and is forced to believe the truth what Soumya had told. There is revenge on the second part. It is always said that do not trust blindly. If you are in love trust the other person but be alert at the same time.
I am a new book blogger and this is the second book review copy sent by Kamini Kusum and Sushil Rana. I shall always be thankful to you both for sending me this copy out. The book cover did not appeal me much. I loved the title and the content inside the book. It showcases the journey of each woman how they struggled and faced difficulties but made sure amidst all the setbacks they made a name for themselves in whatever they did. The short stories were apt and were not too long and the characters were described very well. The writing style was simple and easy to understand. This book is an inspiration for all the women out in the society and the woman also portray the value of love, friendship relationship etc. It is one of the best books for the woman empowerment and also it changes the thinking and the vision of life of the person. A must book read who is strong minded to get things done and is looking for an inspiration.
